Four jazz performances each night can be heard outside in Westfield at various locations - on Central Avenue in front of Banana Republic, the lawn in front of the North Avenue Train Station, the plaza at the corner of East Broad and North Avenue, and Elm Street in front of the Baptist Church.

The 19th Annual Colorscape Festival. The NBT Main Stage is in East Park of downtown Norwich draws an estimated 9,000 people from throughout the Northeast each year.
The Christine Spero Group is bringing their new show, "Spero Plays Nyro", the music of Laura Nyro to Bearsville.
Laura Nyro was the quintessential singer/songwriter/pianist -- one of the first and was inducted to the Rock 'n' Roll Hall of Fame last Spring but unfortunately passed away prematurely in 1997. Her music blurred the lines of jazz, pop, folk and rock. Our arrangements with improvisation mixed with Laura's original arrangements have preserved the integrity of her music while giving it our own kind of power. The Christine Spero Group is pianist/singer Christine Spero; bassist, Scott Petito; drummer, Peter O'Brien and saxophonist/percussionist, Elliot Spero.
Christine was the Winner of the USA Songwriting Competition in the Jazz Category. Her music is listened to around the world.

We want to thank everyone that has helped us recover from Hurricane Irene! We are setting up a tent with a stage at our store on Saturday, August 25th from 11-3 and Sunday, August 26th from 10-2.
We will have a bounce house on Saturday and a climbing wall on Sunday. We will also have pop corn, cotton candy, balloons and face painting - all FREE! The best part is we are going to have lots of bands playing...both days! Hope to see you there!
This weekend's A Taste of the Litchfield Hills festival, in its 27th year, will be held at the Harwinton Fairgrounds Saturday (noon to 8 p.m.) and Sunday (noon to 5 p.m.) The event features sample-size tastings and portions of foods from regional restaurants and vendors, along with wines and draft beer.

TAPSM New York has grown over tenfold through the years to now encompass the entire Base Lodge facilities at Hunter Mountain, plus added tent space. Over 70 invited breweries representing over 140 individual beers offer everything from IPAs and lagers to wiesbiers, doppel and trippel bocks, stouts, ales... pretty much any variety you know of, and probably a few that you don't.
Craft brewing is alive and growing in New York State. The resurgance of craft brewing, spawned in part by the creative brewers at Saranac and Boston Brewing, has lead to fuller bodied, flavorful brews featuring rich colors, bold flavors, and imaginative ingredients. New craft breweries are opening every year, and we're both happy and proud to welcome them aboard.
TAPSM New York is also about food. Each year we offer plenty to eat. The food theme for 2012 is Caribbean Food. Daily cooking demonstrations will also show you some great ideas for your own kitchen.
TAPSM is also a beer competition. Brewers from across the state enter their finest suds to compete for plaques and trophies.
